Guide for Editors

Editors of RDPub journals are responsible for the quality and integrity of the content of their journal. Editors are expected to follow the policies of the journal and of the publisher, and the COPE Core Practices.

Responsibilities

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their scientific merit, originality, validity and relevance to the journal, without regard to the authors’ gender, nationality, religion, ethnicity, affiliation or political views. They must keep manuscripts and reviews confidential, select suitable reviewers, ensure that reviews are fair and timely, and give clear reasons for their decisions.

Conflicts of interest

Editors must declare any personal, financial or professional conflict of interest and must not handle manuscripts from their own institution, recent collaborators (within the last three years), family members, close personal friends or competitors. Manuscripts submitted by editors are handled by an independent editor.

Ethical concerns

Editors must act on concerns about plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, authorship disputes or unethical research following COPE flowcharts, and may issue corrections, expressions of concern or retractions, as described in the Corrections, Retractions and Research Integrity policy.

Confidentiality and AI

Editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or reviewer reports to public generative AI tools, and must not use manuscript content for their own research without the authors’ written consent.

Editorial independence

Editors take decisions independently of the publisher and of any commercial or financial consideration, as stated in the Editorial Independence statement on the About Us page.
